Mexico Dinner Party

With the economy in a recession may be difficult to take the family out for a nice Mexican dinner. Why not prepare its own right in his own party room. You can set up buffet style so there is need for a waiter / waitress.

FAJITAS

Ingredients

4 cups of meat (beef, turkey, chicken, steak) your choice – cut into small pieces.
1 / 2 cup oil
1 / 3 cup onion
1 / 3 cup peppers (chopped)
1 / 3 cup tomatoes (chopped)
1 / 3 cup taco seasoning

– Add oil to pan and warm it.

– Saut? The onions and peppers for 5 minutes.

– Add the meat of your choice, sprinkle with taco seasoning on the meat while cooking, and cook until meat is done.

– Mix the tomato and stir the mixture.

– Serve with the shell of your choice.

Red beans and rice

Ingredients

3 cans red kidney beans
3 cups white rice (cooked)
1 onion (chopped)
2 jalapeno peppers (diced) – optional
1 / 2 pound salt pork
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water

– Add oil to skillet.

– Caramelize onions and peppers about 10 minutes

– In a medium saucepan and 2 cups boiling water and salt pork for about 20 minutes.

– In another medium saucepan add 3 cans of beans (with juice), simmer for 30 minutes.

– Drain the beans in a colander until all liquid is gone.

– Place the beans back into the sauce pan and add the salt pork, onions and peppers and stir.

– Continue cooking for 10 minutes, remove the meat alt pork (you can leave any piece that fell off.)

– Get out your cooked rice and allow to warm and pour the bean mixture on top thereof.

BURRITOS

Ingredients

1 pound of meat (your choice), cooked
1 medium onion (chopped)
1-12 ounces refried beans – hot
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup fresh tomato (chopped)
2 cups shredded cheese (any)
1 cup sour cream 1
Bottle taco sauce or salsa
1-8 count package soft tortilla shells flat

– Preheat oven 325 degrees and heat the shells for 10 minutes.

– Place all ingredients, place the meat in the center in a uniform layer and then add your beans and remaining ingredients in a format layer.

– Wrap your burrito – tuck the ends and roll into the shell. – You can use sour cream, guacamole or salsa for dipping if you like burritos.

No Mexican dinner party is complete without an authentic dessert and drinks.

JUICE WATER MELLON or melon

Ingredients

2 liters water
A whole melon
1 / 3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 / 4 ice cubes

– Pour water into a pot of 2 quarts

– Cut the melon in half, remove seeds

– Cut the melon into small pieces

– Using a blender pieces of melon, 2 tablespoons water and 1 / 4 of ice in the blender and blend for 2 minutes, until it becomes a liquid consistency.

– In quarter 3 contain spill the mixture of melon and 2 quarts of water.

– Add sugar and stir well.

CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE sopapillas

Ingredients

2 – frozen pastry dough (thawed)
1-8 ounce package of sour cream (softened)
1 / 4 cup melted butter or margarine
3 tablespoons coconut chocolate
1 cup sugar

– Preheat oven to 350 degrees

– Place one pie shell in a dish 9-inch cake

– In a large bowl, mix softened cream cheese, melted margarine or butter, chocolate coconut and sugar. Mix well.

– Pour the cup of the mixture within the crust ingredients.

– Place the other pie shell on top and make 3 or 4 small slits in top crust to allow steam to be released.

– Bake for 15-20 minutes, until pie shell is golden brown.

– Allow to cool.

All these recipes serve six. Serve and enjoy dinner in Mexico theme party!
